International education centre, a new structural subdivision of Ternopil Ivan Pul'uj State Technical University, started its work on the 12th of November 2007.
The main tasks of the Centre are: training of the foreign citizens with the purpose of their entering a higher educational institution in Ukraine and organization of instruction preceding to the attainment of higher education in foreign languages by both foreign students and Ukrainian citizens.
The Centre also conducts active work on the implementation of the joint cooperation programs with foreign educational institutions. Teacher, co-worker and student exchange as well as teacher internship programs abroad with the purpose of raising their scientific and methodical level are organized within the framework of the programs mentioned.
The university has a license for foreign students training in all its specialties.
In 2007 - 2008 the training of the first students from Nigeria and India in the specialty "Management of Organizations" was conducted in English. During 2008 - 2009 34 students of the first and second years from Nigeria, India, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Cameroon and Uganda were acquiring education in the specialties "Management of Organizations" and "Controlling Information Systems and Technologies". 48 students from the Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Gabon and Cote d'Ivoire are currently studying at the Pre-University Studies Department. The general amount of foreign students at the university comprises 102 persons.
Instruction is conducted in Ukrainian and English at the level of qualification demands set before bachelors in the educational plans approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Agreement, signed between the TSTU and the Indian "Shobhit" University in July 2007 opens new opportunities for foreign students. Under this agreement, students studying according to the joint Ukrainian-Indian program will be able to obtain both Ukrainian and Indian higher education diplomas. Training is to be conducted by the best teachers from both universities as well as the professors from other countries, invited to teach at the TSTU.
